Greensburgh, PA (PTTP) – On the morning of February 10th, a house in the 300 block of Harrison Avenue in Greensburg went up in flames while heavy smoke clouded over the neighborhood.
Nobody was in the inflamed house, but fire officials believe the fire started in the basement and traveled up and over to the neighboring house where resident Kera Griffin was fast asleep. Luckily, she got out safely due to the help of a brave stranger, Gary Demus, who banged on her door repeatedly until she awoke.
Kera Griffin’s father, Ed Griffin makes his top priority his family, putting this tragic day into perspective,
“That’s ok, we don’t need a house. We got our daughter. That’s all we need.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but everyone involved is safe and no injuries have been reported.
