Pitt alum Virginia Hill continues to impact education in her community

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) – Virginia Hill is the founding principal of Environmental Charter School (ECS) in Pittsburgh and is the subject of this week’s Alumni Spotlight.

Hill graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December 2014 before moving into the field of education, a decision made after realizing the impact she had in tutoring other young minds.

“…And from there I was hooked… I was needed, and I went into education alongside science.”

Hill has moved on to serve as ECS’S K-5 Executive Director of Academics and Interim COO.

In the future, Hill hopes to be involved in the creation of education policy, citing her experience as an educator. She hopes to bring about change in this area and have an impact on students, teachers, and her community.
