The Pitt News rundown

Pittsburgh, PA (PTTP) – Pitt to the Point collaborates with The Pitt News to broadcast three of their top stories.

Pittsburgh Regional Transit could implement the Bus Rapid Transit Program, which would affect several routes in Oakland. The 61D, 71A, 71C, and 71D currently reach Downtown and would turn around on Craft Avenue in Oakland instead. In addition, the P3 outbound route would no longer go further than Wilkinsburg Station. The Pitt men’s basketball team won in an upset on Jan. 28 against the ranked Miami Hurricanes. The Panthers were down eight points at 2 minutes 26 seconds. They then went on an 11-0 scoring run, beating Miami 71-68. The players and coaches attribute the win to the sold-out Petersen Events Center fans. Read the full story here – 

On Sunday, a group of University of Pittsburgh students gathered to mourn the death of Tyre Nichols and protest police accountability. Many students who attended the protest gave speeches. The Black Action Society also released a statement on Sunday regarding Nichols’ death.
