Pittsburgh (PTTP) – Damar Hamlin has returned home. Almost two months after collapsing on the field with Cardiac arrest during an NFL game, Hamlin is back in the public eye. He was seen attending the Pitt men’s basketball game versus Georgia Tech on Tuesday, February 21st. Once noticed on the jumbotron, Hamlin was quickly welcomed by the Pitt faithful with a standing ovation.
Before being drafted by the Bills in 2021, Damar Hamlin was a standout defensive back at the University of Pittsburgh. Before that, he grew up in McKeesport and attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh.
Since his medical scare, Hamlin has gradually recovered and has become more active. He has been acknowledged for his charity work with his Chasing M’s foundation which seeks to provide educational resources to kids. Hamlin was awarded with the Alan Page Community Award for his work in his home area.
