The Chronicler of All Things Pitt Football: E.J. Borghetti

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) – E.J. Borghetti has served the University of Pittsburgh’s athletic department for over two decades. He currently holds the position of Executive Associate Athletic Director. Borghetti has passionate support for all the Pitt sports teams, but his love for the Panthers’ football program runs deeper than the average fan.

Borghetti is blue-and-gold blooded. His father, Ernie, is a former All-American lineman who played for Pitt in the early 1960’s. This in turn led to Borghetti growing up attending Panthers’ football games and being raised around Pitt. He first saw the team in action at the age of just 6 years old, and now the program has been a significant part of his life for the past 45 years and counting.

Although he never suited up for Pitt himself, Borghetti considers this University and the athletic programs to be his family. He now has three sons of his own, and plans on passing his great pride in Pitt down to them just as his father had done for him. Through his position in the University of Pittsburgh Athletics, Borghetti continues to value time shared with players and prioritizes fostering relationships with fellow staff members.
