PITTSBURGH (PTTP) — You’ve probably seen students over by Dippy the Dinosaur juggling, climbing trees, riding unicycles, and doing other ‘circusy’ things. These students are part of Pitt’s premiere juggling club, The Masters of Dropping Objects. Club President, Noah French, gave Pitt to the Point more information about this unique club.
“It’s a place for people who are into juggling and other circus arts. We’ve got slackliners, jugglers, and some people that like unicycling; just circus arts across the board. This club came into being because there were a couple of disconnected juggling clubs in Pittsburgh, and this was an attempt to centralize it and make it a home at the University of Pittsburgh.”
While this club is affiliated with Pitt, many community members and students from Carnegie Mellon come to join in on the fun. French explained, “It’s been super fun because I’ve met some interesting people that I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for this club.”
The club is always open to new members, as it “seems many people are very interested in learning how to juggle. The vast majority of people want to learn how to juggle, and once they do, they’re satisfied with that,” French said.
The Masters of Dropping Objects meet every Sunday starting at 3:30 at Carnegie Mellon’s campus on ‘The Cut’ and every Thursday at 5:00 by Dippy the Dinosaur. If you’re looking for a new hobby, you’ve found it!
