Demi is a junior at the University of Pittsburgh. She is currently majoring in Professional Communications with a minor in Law, Criminal Justice, and Society. Demi is also completing two certificates, one In Sports Studies and one in Television and Broadcast Arts. She on pursuing a law degree after undergrad, but her dream has always been to go into sports broadcasting, whether it was production or being an on-air talent. Although she was born in Guatemala, she prides herself as a New Yorker and is a die-hard fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
Demi loves to connect and meet new people which is why she is an active member in the Pittsburgh community. She is part of Sigma Delta Tau, which is a social sorority at the University. Every week she hosts a sports radio show on the WPTS radio station. Demi is also a lifeguard manager for Pitt Recreation. She uses every opportunity she can to stay involved in her commitments.
Sports have always been an important part of Demi’s life, whether it was participating or watching. With that being said, Demi was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to shadow Pitt Studios Broadcast production for sport games this year. She is grateful to be a part of Pitt to the Point to further her broadcast journey. In her free time, she loves to play with her cat and have movie nights with her friends.
