Candance Owens Addresses Students and Community at the University of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) — Earlier this week on Tuesday, March 19, political commentator
and conservative activist Candace Owens made a stop in Pittsburgh. She spoke to students and
others in the community that evening right on campus in Alumni Hall.

This was a part of the “Live Free Tour” hosted by the University of Pittsburgh’s chapter of
Turning Point USA. The event drew a large crowd of about 500, as Owen’s discussed topics
from climate change to her opinion on being a college student in today’s society.

Candace’s opinions are known to cause controversy across the country. A group of protestors
also gathered outside of Alumni Hall. They carried signs, noisemakers, and some even dressed
in clown costumes. The students did anything to voice their disapproval of the University
allowing Owens to speak on campus.

We reached out to the University, as well as both the chapter of Turning Point and Pitt Democrats
on campus for statements on the events, however, we did not receive a response back.
