Pitt Attends the ACC Swimming and Diving Championship

PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — The Swimming and Diving ACC Championship is being held
from Feb. 18-22 in Greensboro, NC. The University of Pittsburgh’s swimming and diving team
was very successful on their first day.

Cameron Cash, the past ACC Champion on 3-meter and platform, won bronze on the 3-meter
again with a score of 397.70. Avery Kudlac also set the school record for the 200 free.
Additionally both the men’s and women’s 800 relay teams ended up breaking school records.
The women’s 800 relay team had broken the record that had been standing for seven years. They
ended up finishing 7th with a time of 7:03:77 and ended up being the best ACC finish in that
event in the program’s history. The men’s 800 relay team ended up finishing 10th with a time of
6:16:70, also setting a new record. The women’s 200 medley relay ended up finishing 9th and
winning their heat with a time of 1:36:38. Sophie Yendell had one of the fastest splits in the
country this year with a 22.08 in the 50 fly split. There ended up being five Pitt divers that scored
in the top 24 of their competitions on Tuesday: Rachael Dickerson (13th), and Megan Iannon
(19th) for the women, and Cameron Cash (3rd), Noah Bernard (12th), and Chase Marafioto
(21st) for the men.

On Wednesday there will be Prelims at 9:30 AM for the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and Men’s
1-Meter and Finals at 5:30 PM for the 200 Free Relay, 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and Men’s
1-Meter.
