Pages Dairy Mart Opens Back up for The Season and is Celebrating their 74th Year Anniversary

PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – This past month, Pages Dairy Mart opened back up for the 2025 season. Located at 4112 East Carson St. in the South Side. The Ice cream shop opened up in 1951 and is about to celebrate their 74 year anniversary.

Margie Prusia, the owner of Pages Dairy Mart, talked about how this business has been in her family for over four generations, “our history at this location dates back to over 100 years, my relatives purchased this property, probably never imagining it would evolve from a gas station into an ice cream shop”.

Margie’s great-grandfather got the idea to open an ice cream shop after he visited Florida and saw that soft serve ice cream was up and coming. He decided to take a leap of faith and open up an ice cream shop in Pittsburgh.

It has taken lots of years and hard work for Pages to get to where they are today. Margie states how many people assume that the long lines and endless flavors just happened overnight, when in reality it was a long process. “It took over 70 years to get to where we are today. It required generations of sacrifice, perseverance, and learning from mistakes to reach this point”.

The shop features a wide variety of different ice cream flavors, milkshakes, sundaes, food, and more that people can choose from. They have fan favorites or specialties that they are most known for, like The Nancy B Cookie and The South Side Shake.

Margie and her husband Jared have been the owners of Page’s for four years.
