PITTSBURGH, PA(PTTP) – A new independent music venue has opened up in the heart of Oakland on 401 Atwood. The venue is co-owned and run by Post Genre.
The old church that used to take place at 401 Atwood, turned into an entertainment venue this past December. The venue transformed into an area where artists and groups can perform live for a crowd and show off their musical talent.
The opening of Haven brings an end to a two decade long drought of permanent music venues located in Oakland.
Co-founder of Post Genre, Elijah Alfier, states how most of their work is voluntary, and how there is more that goes into it other than the musicians.
“Post Genre is a creative collective made up of musicians, artists, photographers, audio engineers, lighting designers, and pretty much all the people that go into the behind the scene aspect of live music”.
Haven hosts musical artists showcasing many different styles of genre throughout the week. The facility also hosts events such as work parties, greek life, club events, meetings, and more. To schedule events or buy tickets, you can go to their website https://havenvenue.com/.
