PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP)- Musical Theatre Club at Pitt has their upcoming show “Into the
Woods” on February 12-15. The club features a diverse group of students who are dedicated to
the club and help run it. They perform a variety of shows such as musicals, cabarets, and even
pieces important to everyday life. Issues of politics, sexism, racism, and more is brought to life
through the form of music, song, and dance.
This student run club brings students with diverse backgrounds together to work on something
they are passionate about. They plan on having more cabaret’s coming up and have performed
some popular musicals earlier this school year with “Mean Girls Jr.” and more. Musical theater
fans can look forward to signing up for their 24 hour musical where students cast, rehearse, and
perform a musical together in 24 hours.
There is more to this club than just acting, students can be involved in directing, stage managing,
choreographing, sound, lighting, and everything else that goes on in front and behind the
curtains. If students are looking for tickets to see some of their performances, they can purchase
tickets through their Instagram bio. Pitt student tickets are free and non-students pay 12 dollars.
The performances will be held in the Charity Randall Theatre right next to the Cathedral of
Learning.
