PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) hosted its annual Valentine’s Day-themed adoption event Wednesday, giving prospective pet owners the chance to meet dogs in hopes of finding a match.

The “HARP to Heart” event featured dogs available for adoption, including puppies in foster care and others housed at the organization’s East Side shelter. Attendees also enjoyed crafts, food and free pet accessories as part of the celebration.

One dog, Woofus, was adopted shortly after meeting his first potential family. Two Boston terrier mix puppies also quickly captured the attention of visitors. Other dogs got the fulfillment of meeting new people.

HARP operates two animal shelters, a wildlife rehabilitation center and low-cost veterinary clinics. About 50 animals are currently available for adoption across its facilities. The nonprofit organization relies on community support through fostering, adoptions, volunteer work and donations to continue its services.
