PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – With the number of freshmen that came to Pitt this year, housing was a main concern for students and faculty. 600 students were placed in alternative housing this year, such as Hampton Inn, Pennsylvania Apartments, and Bridge on Forbes.

Additionally, they have rented out more beds from Wellington Apartments. These are now more prominent options for students seeking housing than traditional options like Ruskin Hall, Bouquet Gardens, etc. The University was said to lease even more apartments and alternative housing options for the following semester.

Students who applied for on-campus housing were given a lottery number between one and 7600. This random selection leads to mixed opinions on housing, which is why some students choose off-campus housing instead.
