PITTSBURGH, PA. (PTTP) —De’jovia Davis is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh who is the epitome of an overachiever.
Her involvement not only with the student body but with the community of Pittsburgh is an inspiration to many. Davis says that Pitt was a last-minute decision for her, but since then it has been more than a college experience.
From Savannah Ga., De’jovia Davis is the first female African American drum major for the Pitt band. She has been an avid member in the band for 4 years playing the clarinet. She helps with band recruitment in Kappa Kappa Psi and plans events in the varsity marching band council.
Out of the band, she has been a Pitt pathfinder since her first year and is the vice president of visiting operations. She is also a women’s basketball team manager. Fall of her senior year, Davis was on homecoming court. On top of everything, Davis has received the honors scholarship and the Spirit of Pitt award.
For the community of Pittsburgh, Davis uses her urban studies major to embrace several nonprofit organizations. She has stayed on campus every summer since coming to Pitt, further emphasizing her connection to the community.
