Demi is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh. She is majoring in Media and Professional Communications with a minor in Law, Criminal Justice, and Society and a certificate in Television and Broadcast Arts. It wasn’t until her sophomore here at Pitt where she decided to pursue her dreams in broadcasting. Her love for sports like football and baseball drove her to want to work in broadcast industry. Although she is from New York, Demi has become a fan of sports teams in the city of Pittsburgh.
Throughout her time in the broadcast program here at Pitt, Demi has had amazing opportunities to gain experience in news and sports. From being on the sideline of the spring football game, to producing a streaming talk show for the girls’ basketball team, she has been enhancing her skills in production and on air. While she is an active member in the broadcast program, she is also a part of Greek life on campus and works in campus recreation.
As she graduates in the spring, Demi is hoping to continue her career in broadcast and work as a news producer. She will be an intern at WTOV-9 Steubenville for her last semester to learn the ways of being a news producer. Working behind the scenes for Pitt to the Point, Broadcast Club productions and The Swish Sisters, Demi wants to be an active storyteller. She appreciates all of the opportunities that Pitt has given to her.
