Jordan Sapp is a Film and Media Studies major at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on production. As a senior, she actively seeks out opportunities for experience in the television and film industries. From Jeannette, Pennsylvania, she became interested in journalism beginning in just 7th grade when she interviewed Frank Iero, a famous guitarist, for an English class project.
Her interest further grew when she worked on her high school’s daily morning show, Wake Up Warriors. In 2019, she earned an award as editor for the General Assignment- Serious News category in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the high school National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The show also won best daily newscast of that chapter the same year, Jordan having assisted in its production.
Outside of her studies, Jordan enjoys collecting a wide variety of vintage items including cameras and clocks. Her love of history also permeates into her studies. Her senior Capstone project is a documentary about Jeannette’s former glass industry. She is interested in the preservation of stories through film, especially those relating to Pittsburgh.
