Sean McQuillan is a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh studying Media and Professional
Communications with a Certificate in Television and Broadcast Arts.
He is currently a Production Assistant Intern at ACC Network and the Assistant Sports Director of WPTSFM Sports Radio. Along with this, he is a member of the Pitt Men’s Club Volleyball team, Broadcasting Club, and Connecting Champions Club. He will also be attending this year’s Student Television Network Convention in Long Beach, California, serving as an intern with some of the best college broadcasting students in the nation.
In his past, Sean has proven to be a successful Broadcast Journalist, winning
multiple awards and receiving honors from the Long Island Press Club, Student Television Network, and
his very own Bellmore-Merrick Broadcasting program, especially while helping grow the program to a
prestigious status amongst other high schools in the country.
Sean is from Long Island, New York and chose Pitt to pursue his dreams of working in the sports and live
news broadcasting industry. After being recruited by Director of Undergraduate Studies in Broadcast at
the University of Pittsburgh, Kevin Smith, Sean had said, “It was a no-brainer after hearing what Kevin
had told me. Whether it was about networking or internships, I was blown away with what the program
had to offer, and now happily call this place my home.” He is excited to be a part of Pitt to the Point for
the first time in his college career, and is ready to take on opportunities and help the program reach new
heights.
