Pittsburgh Technology Council Hosts 2024 AI Machine Learning Summit

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa (PTTP) – On February 2, the Pittsburgh Technology Council
hosted the 2024 AI (Artificial Intelligence) Machine Learning Summit. This event took place at
the Sheraton Hotel Pittsburgh at Station Square to inform, regulate, and advise companies on the
power and future of AI.

This event started at 7:30 a.m. and it winded down at about 5:30 p.m. This all day event was full
of speakers that were officers, presidents, engineers, directors, scientists, CEO’s and more to
represent their companies to reveal AI’s potential, culture in a workplace, and overall data
ability. AI’s power is described to be scary yet revolutionary for the future and role in technology
companies.

This event was aimed to educate and provide a forum to strategize for data analysis, AI, and
machine learning in the terms of security and ethics to keep data private to one’s respective
company. With understanding AI and all of its abilities, better business decisions can be made
which is what this summit was created to serve.

This summit also holds significance in creating a full circle of AI’s advancements as it was
developed and invented in the 1950’s at Carnegie Mellon University by its own faculty; Herbert
Simon and Allen Newell. The Western Pennsylvania region holds a lot of innovations in the AI
industry as it continues to be a global leader.

Carnegie Mellon University’s Block Center for Technology and Society has hosted government
officials, stakeholders, and companies in meetings during the 2023 summer to address
executively the development of AI.

AI has exponentially surged of late, but its security and safety remains the main priority. The
Learning Summit kept its agenda’s focus on keeping AI beneficial, while acknowledging and
managing its ethical security concerns
