Pittsburgh, PA. (PTTP) – Dr. Clyde Wilson Pickett serves as the University of Pittsburgh’s Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. On Feb. 18, 2022, Dr. Pickett was interviewed by ‘Pitt to the Point’ Segment Producer Joshua Burn.
“I’m excited about many of the things we have ongoing such as producing our diversity forum to work to make our environment more inclusive and prioritizing equity and outcomes,” Dr. Pickett said. “I know a number of our student leaders in the past, historically, (had) taken the opportunity to pursue social justice.”
The Chief Diversity Officer of the University of Pittsburgh has noticed an improvement in racial equity since his time as an undergraduate. However, he believes there is still work to be done.
“We (Pittsburgh) have one of the most pronounced racial wealth gaps in the country,” Pickett Dr. Pickett said, going on to explain, “we have an opportunity to make (Pittsburgh) a more equitable place for all,”
