PITTSBURGH, PA – The Create PA Workforce Development Training Program is helping
underemployed and unemployed residents in southwestern Pennsylvania gain essential skills for
the growing entertainment industry. With a focus on expanding and diversifying the region’s
crew base, the program provides job training opportunities for rising professionals and emerging
youth.
A key objective of the program is to support marginalized communities, including people of
color, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those with disabilities. By offering targeted training
and mentorship, Create PA seeks to foster inclusivity within film, theater, and television
production, ensuring a more representative workforce.
The initiative connects schools, universities, and community-based training programs to facilitate
collaboration and increase access to industry opportunities. This cooperative approach not only
enhances workforce development but also strengthens the local economy by equipping a diverse
talent pool with the necessary expertise to contribute to southwestern Pennsylvania’s
entertainment sector.
Through its commitment to education, inclusivity, and industry growth, Create PA is playing a
pivotal role in shaping the future of entertainment professionals in the region.
