PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – After almost a decade since its conception, and half a decade since
ground was first broken on the site, the First National Bank (FNB) has finally opened its brand
new state-of-the-art financial center.
The 26-story building, which sits where the civic arena used to be, is a huge milestone for the
Hill District after finally opening following delays due to COVID.
Vince Delie Jr, the president and CEO of First National Bank, said in the company’s press
release that, “Growing up on Pittsburgh’s North Side with views of the city, I was inspired by our
skyline and its beauty, and now FNB is part of it – and we are here because of our determination
and what we have achieved as a Company.”
According to the company, the building is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) certified containing a multitude of health and wellness related features, including floorto-ceiling windows for ample natural light and advanced heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning systems.
FNB also mentioned in its press release that the building contains many amenities for its
employees, including a variety of food options, a brand new fitness center, conference rooms,
and a Wi-Fi-enabled terrace.
Prior to construction, the company also promised to give back to the community by investing in
minority and women-owned businesses, FNB claims to have done that and more. The company
said it has, “committed more than $235 million to the local community.” This includes a $1
million contribution to the UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s This Moment fundraising
campaign
