PITTSBURGH (PTTP) — Tomorrow, Saturday April 1, all the Greek Life Organizations will gather to the stage for the final event of Greek Week: Greek Sing. Greek Sing is the culmination of Greek Week, in which organizations from the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) join forces to create a ten-minute dance and singing routine to make a final push for the coveted Greek Week trophy.
Greek Sing Chair and Chi Omega Sorority member Talia Kaganovsky described this event, “Sororities and fraternities get paired up together and perform a routine with a theme of their choice. It can take months to prepare a routine and most teams practice six to eight hours a week; now everyone has been practicing every day.”
While it seems like Greek Sing is just for show, there’s so much more that goes into this event, according to Kaganovsky, “This event allows people to hang out in a different setting and make new friends and connections. Greek Sing showcases the fact that we [Greek life] want to be able to do something for the community. We’ve been preparing for this event for months, collaborating with Pitt Program Council, and with all the chapters here on campus.”
Greek Sing will be the finale of events that took place on campus all week long, from clothing and canned food drives to educational lectures. Greek Sing is looking to be competitive, entertaining, and fun for everyone.
