PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — The University of Pittsburgh’s Greek community recently concluded its annual Greek Week, held from April 6 through April 12, 2025, with a series of events and spirited performances that engaged students and supported local charities.
Throughout the week, fraternities and sororities organized initiatives including clothing drives, speaker presentations, karaoke, and blood drives, with all donations benefiting Pittsburgh-area organizations. The events emphasized sustainability and inclusivity, aiming to involve the broader student body in community-building efforts. They use points with each event and accomplishment to identify the winning team of the whole week. Sigma Delta Tau, Triangle, and Pi Lambda Phi pulled through with the most points of the week and were declared the winners of Greek Week.
A highlight of the week was the annual Greek Sing competition, where 12 teams performed themed musical numbers on Bigelow Boulevard. The team comprising Chi Omega, Beta Theta Pi, and Tau Kappa Epsilon won with their “The Incredibles” theme, delighting an audience of over 1,800 students, alumni, and Pittsburgh residents.
Another highlight was Greek Week Royalty, crowning Lauren Cook from Alpha Delta Pi as Queen and Cooper Sainiak from Sigma Chi as King.
Greek Week serves as a cornerstone for Pitt’s Fraternity and Sorority Life, fostering unity among Greek organizations and promoting philanthropic efforts within the university and the greater Pittsburgh community.
As the university continues to navigate challenges within Greek life, events like Greek Week highlight the positive impact and community engagement fostered by these student organizations.
