Greek Week Leading Positive Change At Pitt

PITTSBURGH (PTTP) — Pitt’s fraternities and sororities are hosting events across campus March 27th through April 1st for Greek Week, an annual series of activities and programs for all students on campus. Fraternity and sorority members run a clothing drive, a canned food drive, and a blood drive, and donate collected materials to Pittsburgh charities and organizations.
“This also incorporates sustainability, which is really important,” said president of Tri Delta Rose Patrick. “Making these events accessible to more people is our goal, as well.”
Greek life students also attend lectures from guest experts regarding mental health and domestic violence awareness.
“I was really happy that we started off with a mental health event,” said Patrick. “Greek life in general really prioritizes that.”
Greek life students are working hard to engage the campus and ignite positive change for all students by including everyone and welcoming them to programs such as the mental health speaking event. The goal is to involve as many students as possible in the community-building efforts. Greek Sing, the final Greek Week event, will take place this Saturday, and the head organizers of the program expect a significant turnout.
