Home Plate: From Pitt to ESPN

PITTSBURGH (PTTP)- Beth Kovaly Ross graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992, where she completed a double major in English Writing and Communication. During her time at Pitt, she was actively involved in several student organizations, including the Heinz Chapel Choir, WPTS radio station, and The Pitt News. She also completed two internships at KDKA, one in radio and one in television, which helped launch her career at ESPN.

October 2022 marked her 25th anniversary of working for ESPN, where she is currently a Senior Video Editor. At ESPN, Beth has edited for some of the most popular shows on the network, including Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, and NFL Live using software such as Quantel and After Effects. Ross’s job has also taken her on the road to cover a wide variety of events, from the Men’s Basketball Final Four to the X Games to the Breeders’ Cup for horse racing.

Her remarkable career at ESPN is a testament to her skills as a video editor and her unwavering commitment: “It’s 26 years later, and here I am at ESPN. And I’m still doing the same job I was hired for, and I still love what I do.”
