PITTSBURGH, Pa (PTTP) – The Pittsburgh Foundation has announced the funding recipients of the Exposure Artist Program. The program seeks to give funding to artists in the Pittsburgh area working to spread diversity and social justice through their art. Entertainment Reporter Livia Rappaport sits down with Almah Lavon Rice, winner of the First Time Grantee award.
Rice is a writer of speculative fiction and creative non-fiction, who’s work has been features in numerous magazines and anthologies. Rice plans to use the grant money to fund a series of writing retreats, which will allow her to focus on creating more long-form writing projects such as novels.
