Jacob Goren is a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh and a Film and Media
Studies major.
He is currently a production volunteer for ACC Network, a member of the WPTS Radio
Sports staff, and a member of the broadcast club. Jacob has also provided play-by-play
commentary for the Pitt club ice hockey team’s livestreams and is a regular contributor
for Devils Army Network, a fan blog that covers the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.
Before coming to the University of Pittsburgh, Jacob worked dozens of live-streams for
the NFHS Network, providing play-by-play, color commentary, and camera work for
many high school sporting events throughout northern New Jersey. He also created,
co-produced, and co-hosted a weekly talk show called ‘Puck Drop’ covering the New
Jersey Devils which aired on his home town’s local network.
Jacob is from Livingston, New Jersey where his high school allowed him to explore the
world of live broadcasting. Now at Pitt, Jacob looks to continue to further his career and
gain even more valuable experiences both in and out of Pitt to the Point
