Mass Shooting at Kansas City Super Bowl Parade

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (PTTP) – Earlier this week on Wednesday, Feb. 14, a day which was
supposed to be full of fun and celebration in Kansas City, Missouri, turned into a tragedy.
Just days after their victory, there was a mass shooting that took place at the Chief’s Super Bowl
celebration parade.

The parade officially began around 11 a.m. and ended with a huge crowd outside of Union
Station. This was when at about 2 p.m., shots were fired on the west side of the Station. The
shooting left one person dead and 22 others injured. Three of those people are still in critical
condition.

Authorities have stated that three people have been taken into custody in connection to the
incident. Two of the three are said to be under the age of 18. No charges have been filed. Killed
in the shooting was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 44 year-old radio DJ and mother of two.

The city’s police chief, Stacey Graves, applauded the response of her department’s officers and
firefighters, as well as the quick action of citizens on the scene. “The law enforcement response
was exemplary. Those in attendance also responded,” Graves added. “They helped one another
and even physically stop a person who was believed to be involved in the incident.”

In 2024 alone, there have been at least 48 mass shootings in the United States, with 81 killed and
165 wounded
