PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – On March 6, University of Pittsburgh student, Sudiksha Konanki went missing in the Dominican Republic while on spring break. Konanki and her friends were staying at the RIU Republica in Punta Cana.
Konanki can be last seen on security cameras right before the resort lost power, seeming to be bent over with what we pressum to be throwing up. The security footage shows this happening around four in the morning. It is the last known video of Konanki before she disappeared.
Joshua Riibe, a senior at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, has been named the man who was last seen and with Konanki right before her disappearance. Riibe has not been made a suspect.
Although not being considered a suspect. Riibe got his passport taken away and was not able to leave the country. He was under supervision by police and questioned by authorities multiple times. He had been held in the country for 10 days, and just recently returned back to the states with his father.
Sudikshas father, Mr. Konanki gave a statement on Tuesday stating that they believe their daughter had drowned. He mentioned that there is no evidence to believe that there was any foul play from Riibe or any kind. This comes after the families expressed desire for closure.
