PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – Coming up on Saturday, March 9th, Pittsburgh will be hosting its
annual fundraising gala. Lights, Glamour, Action is a red-carpet event hosted each year by the
Saturday before the Oscars celebrating the entertainment industry in southwestern Pennsylvania.
The evening will include dinner, drinks, music, and dancing. The money raised will be put to
promotion to bring production to the region.
This year’s Oscars is a special one for Pittsburgh. “Rustin” a film telling the story of Bayard
Rustin, advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. was filmed in the area. Lead Colman Domingo is
nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor.
The Pittsburgh Film Office has helped in producing 200 feature film and TV productions within
the southwestern Pennsylvania region. This has provided numerous jobs and brought a total of
2.5 billion dollars worth of economic impact to the region.
