PITTSBURGH (PTTP) — The Panthers have completed a total of 14 spring ball practices, ending the spring ball season. The Spring 2023 Blue and Gold Game will be held this Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Acrisure stadium at 1pm.
Head Coach Pat Narduzzi had announced the format of the game on Thursday, April 13th. They have decided to take a different approach this year for the spring game to get the players competing in a better way. There will be no teams at this year’s game. It will be a Defense versus Offense format.
In addition to the media press conferences with Coach Narduzzi. Our Pitt Sports reporter Donni Blackwell and Producer Nick Farabaugh were in attendance and were able to talk to Aliquippa Native and Pitt corner M.J. Devonshire.
Donni’s interview consisted of asking the Senior Corner about his emergence into the leadership role with former Panthers such as Safety Brandon Hill and Linebacker SirVocea Dennis along with other defensive leaders, who will be getting drafted later this April. Devonshire mentions how he talks to the younger players in a more positive manner to keep them motivated in practice. He also mentioned how he decided to put on some muscle so that he becomes a strong force to be reckoned with against bigger and taller receivers, and lastly, he told reporters that he thinks the offense versus defense format is a great format to play in on Saturday.
The full interview with Donni Blackwell and M.J. Devonshire will be uploaded on the Pitt to the Point Website.
