Men’s Pitt Basketball Gears Up for Tournament Play

PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – With the ACC regular season winding down, the Pitt basketball team finds itself in a solid position tied for 5th in the conference standings alongside Clemson and Wake Forest.  

The Panthers secured an impressive victory over Boston College, last Saturday, March 2nd, with a commanding 90-65 win. They followed up with another strong performance on March 5th, defeating Florida State University 88-73.  

As the regular season draws to a close, Pitt’s focus now shifts to their final ACC matchup against NC State on March 9th. Following that, the team will set its sights on the ACC tournament, scheduled to commence on March 12th in Washington, D.C. 

Leading the charge for the Panthers is standout player Blake Hinson, who is currently averaging 18.8 points per game (PPG), placing him 4th in the ACC and serving as the team’s leading scorer. Carlton Carrington has been a key contributor as well, boasting averages of 13.3 PPG and leading the team with 4.2 assists per game (APG) alongside 5.2 rebounds per game (RPG). Ishmael Legget has also been a force on the court, averaging 12 PPG while leading the team with 5.4 RPG. Jaland Lowe rounds out the core lineup, contributing 9.4 PPG and 3.3 APG.  

With a strong finish to the regular season and a talented lineup, the Pitt Panthers aim to make an impact in the upcoming ACC tournament.
