PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – In the heart of Oakland, a unique initiative is underway to transform a former church into a vibrant space for music enthusiasts. Post Genre is hosting a concert series beginning this Saturday, Feb. 3. The staff is gearing up for an extraordinary show that promises to be spectacular.
Mark Riggio, one of the key members, emphasized, “We have been for the past couple of weeks, in the preparation process, and we are working diligently to have a super awesome show ultimately.” As highlighted by the organizers, it has been a labor of love over the past couple of weeks. The dedicated team members, each with unique roles, contribute significantly to the project.
Eli Alfieri manages tasks ranging from cleaning up to communication with bands and Post-Genre members. Adam Klenovish handles social media management, sponsors, and marketing. Mark Riggio, the co-founder of the Post Genre movement, owns 8-Track Entertainment, specializing in live lighting and sound for the events the group organizes. Adam believes they are “bringing it to another level” as the team works alongside The Pittsburgh Innovation District and an Oakland real estate company to make it all happen.
The dream of turning the church into a permanent music venue is a focal point of the community organization. “Playing is the backbone,” Eli emphasizes. The ambition is not just to create a space for sporadic events but to establish a lasting musical sanctuary. One key advantage of their chosen venue is that it is accessible, and has ample space for professional audio and lighting. In addition to that, a significant revelation is the assurance of a real stage. Although there’s no formal agreement for the temporary location, the team hopes that the success of their event series will generate enough traction to sustain the space for the long term. Eli shares, “We are very grateful for the trust we have been given…and we don’t wanna let anyone down.” This sentiment underscores their commitment to delivering a unique and memorable experience for both artists and audiences alike. As fans anticipate the transformation of this church into a musical haven, the Post Genre team’s passion and dedication promise to leave a lasting imprint on the city’s cultural landscape. While Saturday’s show is sold out tickets for the rest of the concert series can be purchased on Post Genre’s website and through their Instagram.
