PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – For over 20 years, the Pittsburgh Passion of the Women’s Football
Alliance has commanded the gridiron, boasting three National Championships (2007, 2014, and
2015).
Co-Owner and Co-Head Coach Teresa Conn said that Pittsburgh embraced the Passion when
they decided to land in Pittsburgh.
“Over 20 years ago, it was hard to know how a city would receive a women’s professional
football team. Luckily, we landed in the right city, because Pittsburgh’s just been great to us.”
As the city embraced the team, so too did Steelers legend and Hall-of-Famer Franco Harris, who
became a partial owner of the organization.
“Franco was special,” according to Conn, “He changed the face of women’s football nationally
and here within Pittsburgh. He saw the value of what football can teach and wanted to help
people live their dreams.”
To Conn, being a part of the Pittsburgh Passion runs deeper than football.
“Everything we do is about teaching life lessons – it’s about resilience, perseverance, and loyalty
– and we get to practice them every day on the field.”
The Passion open their season on April 26 as they face the Tampa Inferno in Tampa, Fla.
