Paws Across Pittsburgh Is Rescuing Local Animals

Pittsburgh, Pa. (PTTP) – Paws Across Pittsburgh, a foster-based non-profit animal rescue, works to rehabilitate and rehome dogs and cats in need.

The organization is run solely by volunteers who find foster homes for these animals in addition to providing veterinary care and socialization training. Every cat or dog that enters into the rescue program is spayed/neutered and receives appropriate medical care- including vaccinations and preventative treatments.

The Senior Paws for Seniors adoption program matches older cats and dogs with senior citizens. Research has demonstrated that pet owners report decreased levels of loneliness and depression, in addition to lower stress levels and blood pressure.

Dolly’s Dogs, another Paws Across Pittsburgh program, provides medical rehabilitation and foster homes for injured or disabled dogs.

“There are currently tons and tons of dogs in need right now,” says Diane Raible- a board member of Paws Across Pittsburgh.
