MUNHALL, PA. (PTTP) — At Black Cat Yoga in Munhall, Pennsylvania, downward dog comes with a wagging tail. The studio is hosting a puppy yoga fundraiser that allows participants of all experience levels to move through a guided flow while adoptable puppies roam throughout the space. The interactive class blends wellness and community engagement, giving attendees the opportunity to relieve stress, connect with others, and potentially meet a future pet.
The event benefits South Hills Pet Rescue, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need. According to event organizers, 70% of admission proceeds will go directly toward the care of shelter dogs, helping to cover food, daily necessities, and costly veterinary bills. Additionally, 100% of any merchandise sold by the rescue during the event will support its operations. Beyond fundraising, the event aims to increase awareness of adoption efforts and provide visibility for dogs seeking permanent homes.
Owner and head instructor Megan Wittman, a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with additional credentials in prenatal yoga, said creating unique community-centered experiences is central to her mission. Wittman, whose preferred style is vinyasa yoga, views yoga as both a creative practice and a method of healing. By combining mindful movement with animal rescue advocacy, she said the event reflects the studio’s commitment to supporting both physical and mental well-being while giving back to the local community.
