PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited Pittsburgh last
Friday, Jan. 26, to celebrate the more than $142 million in federal funding heading towards the
city of Pittsburgh.
This investment is being used to improve infrastructure on the I-376 Parkway East Corridor. The
Pittsburgh region project will include the rehabilitation of 10 bridges, improved traffic
management, and to help build a new wall along the Monongahela River to help prevent
flooding.
Buttigieg was joined by Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, and members of
Pennsylvania’s Congressional delegation, including U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, and U.S. Reps.
Chris Deluzio (D-17th District), and Summer Lee (D-12th District).
“The funding isn’t just about roads and buses, this is about people, it’s about jobs and the quality
of life in this region,” said Lee.
