A Pitt Alumn on the Field at the Super Bowl – But Not in the Way You’d Think

PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – Katie Miller is barely a University of Pittsburgh alumni, graduating just last spring. Still, she is already making a big name for herself in the sports media world. Currently a graduate student at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Miller has been involved in sports media for her entire collegiate career. Whether it was working for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the National Hockey League (NHL), or even the Syracuse Orange football team, Miller has had a vast range of experience working for all kinds of sporting organizations, but nothing quite to the level of where she’s traveling this weekend.

Miller’s work for the Newhouse social media network has landed her at the biggest game in America – the Super Bowl. Miller will be working on the sideline taking photos and live posting throughout the game, which is the first time anyone from Syracuse University has had the opportunity to do so. Miller has done this work for the entirety of the 2023 NCAA Football season for the Syracuse Orange, but did so with a team. This time, and for the first time, she will be on her own, which she described as both something to be excited and nervous about, stating “In the end, everything is going to have my name on it, everything is going to be able to be traced back to me, which I think is just such a cool opportunity.”

The Super Bowl kicks off on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30 pm.
