Pitt Alumnus Makes His Mark on Saturday Night Live

Ben Asciutto

PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – It is not often one can say their coworkers include Kate McKinnon,
Kenan Thompson, and Colin Jost, but Pitt alumnus Ben Asciutto is one of the few who can. As a
production assistant for Saturday Night Live’s pre-recorded film unit, Asciutto has been a part of
shoots ranging from Pete Davidson’s “I’m Just Pete,” to Shane Gillis’ “Trump Sneakers” skit.

A member of the Pitt Class of 2023, Asciutto found his love for production while working on
“Pitt Tonight”, the University’s student-run, late-night talk show. During the last two years of his
Pitt career, Asciutto held the mantle of executive producer for the show, planning everything
from skits, to bands, and casting for their shows. Additionally, Asciutto spent his time at Pitt
producing award-winning documentaries and landing internships with companies like HBO.

Asciutto’s path to SNL demonstrates how hard work and dedication can set one up for success.
His time at Pitt built his résumé tremendously, and Asciutto has “nothing but good things to say
about Pitt.”
