Bradford, PA (PTTP) – After breaking ground back in 2021, the George B. Duke Engineering and Information Technologies building at Pitt Bradford opened its doors to students on Jan. 11, 2023.
Being over 39,000 square feet in total, the new building features new spaces for students to learn, including a virtual reality lab, maker space, fluid mechanics lab, networking lab, large fabrication space, and engineering shops and labs. With both communal spaces and private study rooms, the Duke building has something to offer for all students at Pitt Bradford.
The building also offers students the opportunity to stay at Pitt Bradford for the entirety of their academic career, now that two new four-year engineering technology programs have been established. From welding, thermodynamics, and laser cutting machines, the George B. Duke Engineering and Information Technologies building allows students to receive hands-on experience with equipment that will elevate their knowledge, giving them the upper hand in their chosen job field.
Keep an eye out for student-led projects created within this building. For more information about the building and the majors it holds, go to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s website.
