“PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – One fresh-out-of-college graduate is making huge sales and boosting publicity in her ever-growing full-time business. Allison Cohen (‘20), has always had a passion for graphic design and art, and finally decided to turn that passion into her successful business, Creative Jawns.
Creative Jawns is a graphic design business selling an array of different products; from blankets, tapestries, phone cases, apparel, pillows, and many more. It is targeted specifically towards graduating seniors and current college students, for them to buy college-customized products in unique, enthusiastic designs.
Cohen majored in Communications, and started Creative Jawns during her Junior year of college when she realized she could turn her graphic design talent into a full-time career. She created an Instagram account just as a hobby, but during her Senior year, her audience skyrocketed, and until 2023, the Creative Jawns reached 26,000 followers on Instagram.
Unfortunately, in August of 2023, Instagram suddenly took down the account for unspecified reasons. Instagram has an ongoing streak of taking down small businesses without context, causing them to start over. According to Cohen, this was the biggest challenge and obstacle of her career thus far, and she is now working effortlessly on bringing back what once had 26,000 followers and amazing fans.
Now, Creative Jawns has a new Instagram, @creativejawnsllc, with a little over 5,000 followers to name. Cohen has been receiving tons of support from all of her fans and customers, and is hoping for the best in rebuilding her entire business. Cohen has also had the ability to give back to all of her supporters by holding ambassador retreats, partnerships, collaborations, and many more.
In the future, Cohen is hoping to gain all followers back and to gain even more, as well as expanding her business beyond social media, including stores throughout the country. Cohen is ecstatic about the future of Creative Jawns and plans to continue giving back and creating bonds amongst all supporters, fans, and customers.
