PITTSBURGH (PTTP) – Pitt to the Point collaborates with The Pitt News to share their top three stories for the week. 

While college life is typically associated with parties and drinking, some students choose to abstain from alcohol. Family history of addiction, religious beliefs, and personal preference are to name a few reasons why college kids are staying sober.

Although it’s now known for Wednesday trivia and mixed drink pitchers, Hemingway’s Cafe boasts an interesting past. The beloved local bar was once an upscale restaurant, but a change in owners transformed Hemingway’s into the student-favorite spot it is today.

The Student Government Board elections are coming up on February 27. Students can vote for a presidential candidate and three board members. The three slates running are the Blank Slate, the Advocate Slate, and the Envision Slate. Voting starts at 8 a.m. and takes place on the SGB website.
