Pittsburgh, PA (PTTP) – Pitt to the Point collaborates with The Pitt News to broadcast three of their top stories.
The University of Pittsburgh Press announced the 2023 Drue Heinz Literature Prize winner. Kelly Sather won for her short story collection “Small in Real Life.” The Drue Heinz Literature award winner wins a publishing deal, along with a $15 thousand dollar cash prize. Sather’s short stories will be published on Oct. 3.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Law will no longer participate in the US News and World’s Report Ranking. Many other universities also withdrew from the rankings due to criticism of the ranking’s methodology. Interim dean and law professor Haider Ala Hamoudi said that “some aspects of the U.S. News rankings are inconsistent with Pitt Law’s mission and values, including our long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.”

The University of Pittsburgh lacrosse team has three new captains for its sophomore season. The team had 13 players graduate last season, including the previous three captains. The captains for this season are Molly Carter, Abby Thorne, and Camdyn O’Donnell. Carter and Thorne were members of the Pitt team last season, while O’Donnell transferred this year from San Diego State.
