Pittch 2.0 – Screenwriting contest begins at Pitt

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) – The Center for Creativity at Pitt is teaming up with industry professionals to bring to life two short screenplays with a budget of up to $5000 per short with PITTch 2.0.

The initiative starts with a screenwriting contest running from February 14-March 15 where students and community members can submit their original works to be read by a panel of film industry professionals. From all of the submissions, eventually, the panel will decide on two winners to go into production.

This is not just for screenwriters, though. After the winners are selected, the initiative will hold workshops for potential crew members to learn all the basics of working on a film set. Ideally, after attending all of the workshops, one will be ready to crew alongside professionals on the sets of these two shorts.
