Pittsburgh, PA (PTTP)- Pittsburgh homeless shelter, volunteers and the Allegheny County Department of Human services are taking steps forward to provide homes and resources for the unhoused individuals during this terrible winter weather. Receiving over 11 inches of snow, and having record breaking low temperatures, being outside is not the best-case scenario for anyone. In March of 2025, over 1,000 individuals in Allegheny County were homeless. As a result, Allegheny County DHS announced their winter shelter plan, which will provide food, shelter and resources for those in need.
Love is in the air with Valentine’s weekend coming up. Pitt students are excited to not only celebrate their significant others, but their friendships as well. They call this Galentines and Palentines Day. Many plans on taking trips orhaving get-togethers with their friends to not be alone on this lovely holiday. There is no reason to feel alone this February 14th. Celebrate the relationships that you have and make memories that will last forever.
