PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – SHURE-Grid is a fellowship held at the University of Pittsburgh
which stands for Summer Honors Undergraduate Research Experience in Electrical Grid. This
12-week fellowship starting in June and ending in August allows for Media and Engineering
students to create educational videos in helping students at Pitt and other universities gain an
understanding of the importance of cyber security. Students learn to incorporate cyber-informed
engineering (CIE) principles and interviewing techniques in their videos to help students gain a
better understanding as to why cyber security is important. SHURE-Grid is sponsored by the
Idaho National Lab and at the end of the internship the INL chooses which video made by the
students gets sent out to Pitt and other universities.
