PITTSBURGH, Pa (PTTP) – Pitt to the Point collaborates with The Pitt News to share their top stories of the week.
The Pitt News is celebrating after receiving multiple awards and honors at the 2023 Student Keystone Media Awards. Since 2020, the Pennsylvania News Media Association has been awarding the best of the best in both high school and collegiate student journalism. This year the Pitt News was recognized in eight categories, including two first and second-place finishes. One of the major awards, The Ralph Flamminino Award, went to Pitt to the Point’s very own, Alexandra Ross. This award honors a journalist college student that makes notable contributions to their newsroom.
We spoke with The Pitt News Editor-in-Chief, Rebecca Johnson, about her feelings regarding the newspaper’s success at this year’s awards. She stated, “I feel really grateful to work with such talented people, and they definitely deserve all of the accolades they get…”.
