The Pitt News Rundown

The Pittsburgh People’s Assembly for fair and Equitable Housing meets once a year for fair housing month. This year, it was held at the Frick Fine Arts building and there many organizations there to help improve low income renters in Pittsburgh. These organizations help people form councils and petitions to lower rent rates and make housing more affordable for renters. In addition to the assembly, there were breakout rooms that went more in depth on certain topics like the student housing struggle and what solutions can be made.

With students graduating soon, it is a fitting time to look back in high school graduations. Most of the students graduating in Pitt’s class of 2024 had to sit on zoom while they graduated high school, so with the upcoming graduation ceremony, students hope that this one will be better. Students are not able to reminisce on their senior year of high school because of the restrictions due to Covid-19, so this must be a good one. Some students are excited for graduation, but some are nervous to take that next step in life.

Pitt Eats has added another food option for students, and it sure has been a hit. The silver trailer between Hillman library and Lawrence hall is a new breakfast place that has options like French toast sticks, bacon, veggie bowls, and much more. This on campus location takes meal swaps as well as dining dollars, and it is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Unlike most of the dining locations through Pitt, Ethels will remain open during the summer for students to grab a quick and cheap breakfast.
