Center for Creative Reuse

PITTSBURGH (PTTP)- The Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse (PCCR) is a unique thrift store located in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Unlike traditional craft stores, PCCR specializes in providing its customers with donated materials, ranging from standard crafting supplies to unconventional items like photographs, plastic bits, and other unexpected treasures. PCCR offers a vast array of items that are donated by both individuals and businesses. Items that many would consider trash, such as bottle caps and corks, are given a second chance at life at the store.

PCCR also offers student internships in topics including art and business. They periodically offer crafting workshops and events, like their annual Craftical competition that takes place in October. As a nonprofit, PCCR relies on generous help from volunteers and donations to keep the shop running. For those interested in donating, clear guidelines for what is accepted are provided on their website, pccr.org.

By rescuing materials that might otherwise be discarded, the center is able to divert waste from landfills and reduce the demand for new materials. With its unique inventory, commitment to sustainability, and welcoming environment, the center has become a beloved institution in the Pittsburgh area.
